Lhyfe, SAF+ Mull e-SAF Partnership in France

February 02, 2024 [Renewables Now]- French green hydrogen developer Lhyfe and Canadian electro sustainable aviation fuel (e-SAF) producer SAF+ International Group have decided to explore the feasibility of teaming up for the production of e-SAF from renewable hydrogen in France.

 

The companies have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to consider the joint creation of a new facility to supply biofuel to airports in France and the signing of a co-development agreement, according to a statement published today.

The contemplated partnership would take place in the port region of Le Havre and would include the construction by Lhyfe of a 300-MW green hydrogen facility with a daily production capacity of more than 100 tonnes to supply a new e-SAF plant to be built by SAF+.

If agreed, the partnership will target a market launch by 2030.

The pact with Lhyfe comes after in mid-2023 SAF+ inked a MoU with the Franco-Dutch airline holding company Air France-KLM Group for the supply of second-generation e-SAF fuel, with the first deliveries scheduled for 2030.
