May 26, 2013 [Business Wire] - LBC Tank Terminals today announced that the group's Chief Operations Officer, David Knowles, informed the board of directors of his plans to retire after 37 years of service with the group.

“During his time with LBC, David has overseen significant change in the operations of our business and has supported the company through a number of challenges including changes of ownership, management of the business and not forgetting the recent refinancing of the LBC Group,” said Brett Simpson, CEO of the LBC Group.

“We were saddened to learn of David’s retirement and are grateful for his contribution to the group over the course of his length of service. We thank David for his loyalty and commitment to LBC, and wish him a long and happy retirement.”

David Knowles joined LBC Houston in 1976. During his career he progressed up through the ranks to general manager for operations across both LBC’s Houston and Sunshine terminals (Baton Rouge), where he was responsible for the development and management of operations. In 2011, David Knowles was promoted to Chief Operations Officer, working across the group and responsible for global operations, maintenance, engineering and safety, health and quality, and joined the senior management team as a member of the executive leadership team.

The exact date of David Knowles’ retirement has not yet been determined.
