Laroda appointed Senior Director, Operations at BORCO

February 21, 2012 [The Freeport News] - Executives at BORCO (Bahamas Oil Refining Company) announced the promotion of another Bahamian to the position of Senior Director, Operations at the facility.


This announcement made by Buckeye Partners this weekend in a press release, congratulated Greg Laroda, Sr. who will have responsibility for leading BORCO’s operations and the daily management of the terminal.

The release noted that Laroda has been at BORCO for more than 30 years and will remain based in Freeport. Mary Morgan, senior vice president and president of Buckeye’s International Pipelines and Terminals business unit was quoted as saying, “I am very pleased that Greg will lead the operations team at BORCO. Greg brings great experience, leadership and relationships to this key role. I know he will work with the BORCO management team and employees to continue the development and world-class operations of the terminal.

“During his career at BORCO, Laroda has held a number of positions including Marine Manager and Terminal Operations Manager. Greg has proven himself to be a knowledgeable and successful leader during his long career at BORCO. We expect his extensive experience will benefit BORCO and Buckeye as we continue to execute on our strategy, and BORCO remains a critical link of that strategy.”

Outside of BORCO, Greg serves as a Police Reserve in the mobile division of The Royal Bahamas Police Force and counts it a privilege to serve his country. Laroda is the father of two, a 25-year-old son and a six-year-old daughter.

The management and staff of BORCO congratulates Laroda on yet another career achievement.

BORCO is a subsidiary of Buckeye Partners L.P., a publicly traded company that provides mid-stream energy logistics services. It provides storage of petroleum products for a number of international clients and has a present capacity of 21.6 million barrels. BORCO also offers blending, transshipment and bunkering services. The terminal is located in Freeport,

This announcement came just days after the former President Raymond Jones announced his resignation from the company. However no word has come on his replacement.

The information on Jones’ resignation stated that he would be retained as a consultant, but he was resigning to explore private endeavours.
