December 09, 2025 [SeeNews]- Croatian electrical equipment manufacturer Koncar said on Friday it has signed, jointly with the local unit of Siemens Energy, a 22.5 million euro ($26 million) contract with oil and gas company INA to design and build a hydrogen production plant.

“As the first green hydrogen production facility in Croatia, this project marks a major step forward for Koncar Group and its strategic focus on sustainable energy,” Koncar said in a press release.

The scope of the project also includes procurement, delivery and installation of equipment and materials and commissioning of the hydrogen production, distribution and storage facility on a turnkey basis.

INA said in a separate statement that it has purchased a 10 MW electrolyzer, which will be installed at its Rijeka oil refinery under the contract for the construction of the renewable hydrogen production facility. The project has received state aid of up to 15 million euro through the national recovery and resilience plan.

INA also said it signed on Friday a 10.9 million euro deal with Koncar for the construction of an 11 MW solar power plant.
