06.27.2025 By Tank Terminals - NEWS

June 27, 2025 [Renewable Watch]- Karmsund Hydrogen, which is owned by Norwegian Hydrogen, Sigma, and Karmsund Group, has partnered with HydePoint for the development of a green hydrogen facility in Karmsund, Norway. It will be located at Karmsund Group’s service base. The facility will offer direct access to hydrogen users in both the maritime and onshore sectors.

The facility aims to reduce emissions in the local industry. Furthermore, the project will follow a structured development process, targeting first hydrogen deliveries in 2028. The project partners are in dialogue with industrial and maritime customers to ensure that the production is tailored to real, local demand.

Earlier in May 2025, Norwegian Hydrogen secured funding from the EU Hydrogen Bank and Innovation Norway for its green hydrogen project at Rjukan in Norway. The company has won the EU Hydrogen Bank auction for the green hydrogen project. It will receive up to €13.2 million from the EU for the project.
