June 26, 2014 [BusinessWorld Online] - Jetti Petroleum, Inc. said its 70 million-liter fuel terminal in Mariveles, Bataan is due to start operations in October.
The terminal, which cost P1 billion to construct, passed the 50% construction milestone earlier this month, the independent fuel supplier said in a statement Thursday.
“At this rate, we’re looking at launching the terminal by October of this year,” the statement quoted Jetti Corporate Affairs Manager Leo P. Bellas as saying.
The new facility will serve as storage for unleaded gasoline, automotive diesel, industrial fuel oil and ethanol.
Mariveles, on the southern tip of the Bataan peninsula on the north shore of Manila Bay, is also home to Total Philippines Corp.’s main storage facility with capacity of 50 million liters.
Storage is critical infrastucture for companies that distribute fuel, giving them full control of their own inventory and the scheduling of tanker deliveries and berthing.
