Jet Aviation Enhances Sustainable Aviation Fuel Supply, Bolsters Environmental Commitment
01.06.2024 By Tank Terminals - NEWS

January 6, 2024 [BNN Breaking]- In a move showcasing its commitment to environmental responsibility and service diversity, Jet Aviation has expanded its sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) offerings.

The aviation giant has secured a long-term supply from World Fuel Services for its fixed-base operator (FBO) locations in Bozeman, Montana, and Scottsdale, Arizona. This addition complements the SAF already available at Jet Aviation’s Van Nuys, California FBO since 2019.

SAF: A Renewable Alternative

SAF is a renewable, eco-friendly alternative to conventional jet fuel, with performance specifications identical to its conventional counterpart. Its adoption is seen as a critical step in reducing carbon emissions in the aviation industry. Richard Layson, Vice President of Regional FBO Operations at Jet Aviation, expressed his enthusiasm for providing customers with the option to fuel with SAF, reinforcing the company’s dedication to environmental responsibility.

Commitment to Carbon Emission Reduction

David Best, Vice President of Regional Operations and General Manager Americas, reaffirmed Jet Aviation’s commitment to the industry’s carbon emission reduction goals. He emphasized the importance of collaboration in achieving these goals. The partnership with World Fuel Services is seen as a crucial step in bolstering SAF access and supporting the aviation industry’s net-zero ambitions by 2050.

Expansion of Lower-Carbon Fuel Options

Brad Hurwitz of World Fuel Services also commented on the collaboration’s significance in expanding the availability of lower-carbon fuel options. Apart from the U.S., Jet Aviation offers SAF at its FBOs in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and Singapore. Since 2021, Jet Aviation has also provided a Book and Claim service. This service allows customers to benefit from SAF even in locations where it is not physically supplied, further extending its commitment to sustainable practices.
