Indian Oil Successfully Implements SMART Terminal Concept

October 07, 2019 [Energy Infra Post] – Indian Oil corporation Limited leveraged automation & technology to reform all its 127 storage terminals located across the country into SMART Terminals thereby improving productivity, transparency, safety and customer service.

An average of 19.2 crore liters of oil is received in Indian Oil Marketing terminals through a network of 13,000 km of cross country pipeline,10,000 rail wagons, ocean tankers and a fleet of 24,000 Tank Trucks(TT). Products like Motor Spirit (Petrol), High Speed Diesel, Superior Kerosene Oil, Furnace Oil, Naphtha are loaded into Tank Trucks from a network of 127 oil terminals for supply of oil to 28,000 plus retail outlets, about 4000 SKO agents and 6500 plus direct consumers. Almost 50 percent of energy requirement of the country is fueled from these terminals.
