Implico Presents Two Key Themes at StocExpo
02.11.2011 - NEWS

February 11, 2011 [Implico] - During the StocExpo Europe 2011 exhibition, at stand 77, an international consulting and software company, Implico, will be focusing on integration, data communication and administration.

The international consulting and software company has chosen to highlight the integration of EMCS processes in OpenTAS, its terminal administration and automation system. Another key theme is data transmission via IFLEXX, the new XML-based data exchange standard in the petroleum industry.

The Excise Movement and Control System (EMCS) for monitoring the cross-border movement of excisable goods within the EU has been operational since the beginning of the year. Implico has integrated in OpenTAS all of the electronic customs handling functions required by this system. These can therefore run automatically in the background as part of the loading and shipping processes of a tank terminal or refinery. This integrated, end-to-end application not only minimizes error rates; it also enables tank terminals to operate round-the-clock and ensures that data reaches customs much more quickly.

IFLEXX will be featured at the Implico stand as well. This new XML data exchange format for the petroleum industry enables loading data to be transferred in two directions: to the computer on board the tank truck and to the accounting systems (ERP systems) of the respective oil company. For more than two years Implico now has coordinated the solution’s further development for the IFLEXX Community comprising leading German oil companies and tank storage providers. The new, international data transmission format is scheduled to replace several outdated national standards, first in Germany and later in other European countries. In Germany, IFLEXX is already operational at 19 locations, with 65 more sites to follow soon.

As an international consulting and software company, Implico supports oil and gas companies worldwide in optimizing their business processes. The company was founded in 1983. Headquartered in Hamburg, Germany, the Implico Group has subsidiaries in the UK, Malaysia, Switzerland and the US.

Five of the world’s ten largest oil companies now rely on Implico’s industry experience, consultancy expertise and high-performance solutions – including OpenTAS and SAP OGSD (Oil and Gas Secondary Distribution). OpenTAS is targeted at fuel depots and refineries, offering comprehensive functionality for administration, automation and process improvement. SAP OGSD, developed by Implico and marketed worldwide by SAP, optimizes the distribution of petroleum products.

The fast-growing Implico Group currently employs around 250 staff.
