Glenfarne Issues Limited Notice to Proceed for Texas LNG
07.08.2026 By Tank Terminals - NEWS

July 08, 2026 [Storage Terminals Magazine]-Glenfarne Group has issued a Limited Notice to Proceed (LNTP) to Kiewit Energy Group for the Texas LNG export terminal under development at the Port of Brownsville, Texas.

The LNTP, issued through Glenfarne subsidiary Texas LNG Brownsville LLC, authorises Kiewit to begin work on long-lead equipment procurement, EPC-phase engineering activities and geotechnical investigations required to prepare the project for full construction and a final investment decision (FID).

According to Glenfarne, advancing these activities under the LNTP is intended to maintain project momentum, improve execution certainty and position the Texas LNG project for an efficient transition into full-scale construction.

Texas LNG has already executed a lump-sum turnkey engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract with Kiewit and has received authorisation from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to construct and operate the export terminal. The company said the LNTP activities build on recent project milestones and support progress toward supplying US liquefied natural gas (LNG) to international markets.
