German Baltic LNG Terminal to Launch After Test Runs
07.05.2024 By Tank Terminals - NEWS

July 05, 2024 [Montel News]- Deutsche Regas spokesman Oskar Burmann confirmed the arrival of FSRU Neptune on Wednesday and the upcoming repositioning of FSRU Energos Power, set to begin in the coming days.

Regular operations would commence once all tests were completed and the relevant authorities notified, he said. But he declined to say when commercial production would start.

The combination of both ships would create “the largest free injection capacity [into the gas grid] of all German LNG terminals,” Deutsche Regas said.

The terminal will play a crucial role for LNG supply in Germany as well as neighbouring countries.

Germany has scrambled to find ways to import gas after pipeline supplies from Russia ended in 2022 in the wake of the Ukraine war.
