November 18, 2013 [PortNews IAA] - Gazprom Neft OJSC is going to put into operation its new marine terminal Novyi Port in Ob Bay (Yamal-Nenets autonomous region) in late 2015. The terminal is to be used for export of oil from Novoportovskoye field. According to PortNews IAA journalist, this has been announced in Saint-Petersburg at the Conference “Northern Sea Route” by Sergey Devyatyarov, Chief Engineer, Deputy Director General of Gazprom Neft Novyi Port (Gazprom Neft subsidiary).

According to him, marine shipments of crude oil being produced by Gazprom Neft at Novoportovskoye field from 2012 will make 5.5 mln t per year when Phase I of the port is put into operation. When fully operational (as expected by 2019), the terminal will ship some 8.5 mln t of oil per year. The terminal will operate round the year.

Gazprom Neft investments into the project are to make RUB 250 bln during the period from 2012 till 2020. As of today, some RUB 15-16 bln have been spent for the project implementation.

Designing of Novyi Port marine infrastructure is nearing completion, construction of shore facilities is in the process. Project document is expected to be approved by mid 2014. Construction works can commence with the opening of summer navigation in 2014.

The shipment terminal of Novyi Port will be similar to that of port De-Castri (Khabarovsk territory), a single point mooring.

The port will be able to accept ice class tankers (Arc6) with deadweight of up to 55,000 t, draught of up to 9 m and maximum width of 32-34 m.  The tankers will perform round the year shattle voyages to deliver crude oil to Murmansk (Belokamenka terminal) for further transshipment to Aframax tankers and transportation to Rotterdam. Gazprom Neft does not rule out that first batches can be delivered directly to Rotterdam.

Novoportovskoye field is the largest oil and gas condensate field in the Yamal Peninsula. Recoverable C1, C2 reserves of oil and gas from Novoportovskoye field are estimated at 230 million tons of oil and 270 billion cbm of gas.
