FRCL bunker storage in Fujairah 'on-stream' within months

February 2, 2010 [Bunkerworld] - A spokesman for the Fujairah Refinery Company Limited (FRCL) said 140,000 cubic metres (m³) of tank storage for 'black oil' should be ready by May or June.

He was speaking to Bunkerworld after last week’s ceremony at the FRCL complex to mark the phased commissioning of the new tank farm and a return to full production by the 80,000 barrels per day (bpd) refinery. The new tank farm, which is close to completion, already has a capacity of 564,000 m³ of bulk liquids.
Vitol bought a majority stake in the Fujairah Refinery in May 2007 at a time when the refinery had been mothballed.
It has been expanding storage at the site and bringing the refinery back into production.
“The refinery has and will continue to produce fuel oil suitable for the bunker market,” the FRCL spokesman told Bunkerworld.
