Former CEO Vopak Passed Away Yesterday

May 16, 2011 [SHV/TankTerminals.com] - Mr. John Paul Broeders, former CEO of Vopak who was recently appointed to the SHV Executive Board of Directors, passed away yesterday, according to the SHV website.


Mr Broeders was suffering from cancer, which developed rapidly in recent weeks.

After his studies John Paul Broeders joined Van Ommeren (later to become Vopak after the merger with Pakhoed in 1999) in 1990. Since then he has held various positions in Vopak amongst which a four year stay in Japan for the Agencies activities and the position of Vice President Marketing & Sales for the division Chemicals Logistics Europe & Africa. From 2000 till the appointment to the Executive Board in May 2004 he was President of Vopak Asia. He held this CEO position till the appointment to the SHV Executive Board of Directors in April 2011.
