July 6, 2023 [Exolum]- Exolum has been operating the fuel storage terminal located at Lisbon’s Humberto Delgado airport since 5 July, as the successful bidder of a tender process organised by ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal VINCI Airports. The company will manage and maintain the fuel storage terminal, in addition to the hydrant network. The agreement also envisages the implementation of improvements to existing infrastructures, which must allow the supply of biofuels such as SAF.

The facilities at Lisbon airport have a storage capacity of 11,500 m3 distributed among three storage tanks, 4 unloading racks for road tankers and a pump set to supply fuel to aircraft through a hydrant system.

Lisbon is Portugal’s main airport thus placing it among the major airports operated by Exolum through its network. It is also the hub of the country’s main airline company, TAP Air Portugal, and the base for numerous connections to Brazil, United States, and Africa, as well as many other international airlines.

This transaction, which is the second outside Spain in Europe after Ireland, consolidates Exolum’s presence and represents another step in the company’s internationalisation strategy within the aviation fuel supply sector, in which the company has extensive experience.

Exolum is an IATA Strategic Partner and member of the Joint Inspection Group (JIG). In addition, it chairs the aviation committee of the Energy Institute and is an affiliate member of the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) and Airports Council International (ACI).

Exolum is Europe’s leading logistics company for liquid products and one of the largest in the world. In the aviation sector, Exolum manages all types of fuel storage and distribution infrastructures, both on and off airport sites, including hydrant networks. It also provides into-plane fuelling and other specialised services.

The company operates in nine countries (Spain, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands, Panama, Ecuador, Peru and Portugal) with a pipeline network of over 6,000 kilometres, 68 storage terminals and 47 airport facilities, and a total storage capacity of more than 11 million cubic metres.
