Exir Chemical Terminal (ECT), Bandar Imam Khomeini, Iran, opens doors

January 21, 2009 [HCB/Odfjell] - Exir Chemical Terminal (ECT), a greenfield terminal in Bandar Imam Khomeini, Iran, opened for business earlier this month.

The first phase comprises 18 tanks with a total capacity of 22,000 m3, focusing on chemicals storage for facilities in the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone. It will eventually be expanded to 80,000 m3. ECT is a joint venture between Odfjell, Oiltanking (35% each) and private Iranian company Nuian (30%) and is the first privately owned liquid chemical terminal in the country.
