Enterprise Barge Link to ECHO Crude Terminal Ready
09.15.2012 - NEWS

September 15, 2012 [OPIS] - Enterprise Product Partners has set up a pipeline connection that will enable crude supplies from its Enterprise Crude Houston (ECHO) terminal, which remains under construction, to ultimately reach its Morgan's Point storage terminal and barge offloading dock via two other third-party pipelines, a spokesman for the company said.

“The 24-inch line has already been constructed … this was fairly recently completed,” the spokesman, Rick Rainey, told OPIS, noting that its Morgan’s Point facility is located along the Houston Ship Channel.

Once ECHO is operational, crude will move into to Enterprise’s Genoa Junction via this 24-inch line, Rainey said.

From Genoa Junction, supplies will move onward towards Enterprises’ Webster station via a third-party 18-inch pipeline, and then connect to Morgan’s Point.

“The 18-inch line to Morgan’s Point originates at an interconnect with a third party pipeline near our Webster station, but is not connected to the facility, Rainey added.

The Morgan’s Point barge offloading dock currently handles up to two 30,000 barges at any one time, Rainey said.
