Emarat Completed Fujairah Terminal

July 6, 2011 [Al Bawaba] - Emirates General Petroleum Corporation "Emarat" has completed Fujairah terminal for storing and distributing gas oil, gasoline and jet fuel that is increasing the total terminal capacity to 260.000 m3 to meet the needs of investors and international partners who looking to rent the units.


The expansion includes 10 new storage tanks with a total capacity of 210.000 m3 at a total cost of about 300 million dirhams., which will be added to the current capacity of 50.000 m3. 

HE Adel Khalifa Al Shaer, Acting General Manager of Emarat announced that this project is considered one of the most important and vital economic projects, as it aims to meet the growing regional demand for petroleum products storage, trading and bunkering, with competitive rates. 

He said that Emarat relies on its long expertise in managing fuel storage units, and it seeks to promote this project among international partners in the petroleum field. The Corporation is currently managing five terminals with a total capacity of 383.000 m3, and these units are distributed in different areas in the UAE. In addition, there are two more terminals managed with international partners with a total storage capacity of 285.000 m3. 

HE Adel Khalifa Al Shaer add that the design of the new tanks complies with the highest criteria of safety, as they employ control systems in accordance with international standards. Also, the project is situated in a strategic area that facilitates supplying fuel to commercial ships, as it has its routes to shipping docks in Fujairah Port, the African markets and the Indian Peninsula. 

HE Adel Khalifa Al Shaer further said that the project will be managed by Emarat and supervised by a trained and qualified team that has the required expertise and capability to run such a project.
