Deutsche ReGas Plans with FSRU 'TRANSGAS POWER' For Mukran

June 26, 2023 [Deutsche Regas]- On June 21, 2023, Deutsche ReGas signed the agreement with the Federal Republic of Germany on the FSRU TRANSGAS POWER for the planned LNG terminal in Mukran. “This marks another milestone for Phase II of the ‘Deutsche Ostsee’ LNG terminal,” says Ingo Wagner, Managing Director of Deutsche ReGas.

 

The company will be sub-charterer of the regasification vessel, which together with the NEPTUNE in phase II of the LNG terminal ‘Deutsche Ostsee’ in the port of Mukran should be used. As agreed, Deutsche ReGas takes over the Rights and obligations of the head charter agreement between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Greek shipowner, in particular all costs such as the full charter.

The special ship flying the Maltese flag, built in 2021, is one of themost modern, safest and most environmentally friendly of its kind and has aRegasification capacity of up to 7.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year and aLNG storage capacity of 174,000 cubic meters.The LNG terminal “Deutsche Ostsee” in Mukran with the regasification ships NEPTUNEand TRANSGAS POWER will have a total entry capacity according to theBNetzA exemption decision for up to 13.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas per yearfeature.

Binding Open Season Process for phase II starts at the end of June

In order to meet the objective of a secure supply of natural gas in the coming winterreach, Deutsche ReGas will start marketing the available on June 29, 2023long-term regasification capacities in phase II in the Binding Open Season procedurestart (see also announcement from 16.6.).Planning for MukranIn the port of Mukran, the Mukran energy terminal is scheduled to go into operation from winter 2023/24to record. In addition to the LNG terminal (winter 2023/24), a hydrogen electrolyzer and the creation of an infrastructure for importing hydrogen are planned there.
