CPC Marine Terminal Increased Shipment By 17.6% In February

March 08, 2018 [KazTAG] - The marine terminal of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium increased shipment in February 2018 by 17.6% to 4.6 mln tons, reports the press-service of the consortium.


In February 2018, the CPC Marine Terminal shipped 4 592 875 tons (36 400 671 barrels) of crude oil, which is by 687 198 tons more than in the same period last year. All in all, year to 1 March 90 tankers were loaded, 42 out of them in February,” the consortium reports.

As it was reported, on 27 February 2018 the Marine Terminal of the Consortium handled the 5000th tanker from the commencement of its operations.

The total of 531 237 928 tons of crude oil were supplied to the world markets from 2001 to 1 March 2018 via the Tengiz-Novorossiysk pipeline system. Out of them, more than 461 million tons of crude oil of Kazakhstan shippers and almost 70 million tons produced in Russia.

The CPC oil pipeline transports about 75% of all export crude oil resources of Kazakhstan. The CPC pipeline system is one of the largest investment projects with foreign capital in the energy sector in the CIS.

The length of the pipeline connecting oil fields in Western Kazakhstan with the Marine Terminal in Novorossiysk is 1,511 km. CPC’s Marine Terminal is equipped with Single Point Moorings that allow to load tankers safely at a significant distance offshore, including bad weather conditions.
