CNPC Starts Construction at the Biggest Terminal in Hunan Province
08.26.2011 - NEWS

August 26, 2011 [Rednet.cn] - The construction works at CNPC-invested Changsha Terminal, in Tongguan Town, Wangcheng District, Shangsha, have been recently started.

The terminal is expected to be completed and operational December next year. This terminal will become the biggest petroleum terminal in Hunan Province and is promising to relieve the  supply stress of the province.

For effective relief of petroleum shortage and strong support to the economy of Changsha and other parts of Hunan, upon the request of Hunan provincial government, CNPC submitted the application to NRDC for extending the originally planned Lanzhou – Zhengzhou – Wuhan Oil Pipeline to Changsha. The application is duly approved. The total Lanzhou-Zhuengzhou-Changsha oil pipeline is totally 2148.4 KM in length, involving total investment of RMB 18.7 billion yuan.

Changsha Terminal, as a supporting terminal of this project, will be Hunan’s biggest petroleum terminal. The total investment is 800 million yuan. A 400,000m3 tank capacity, one special railway connection and a truck loading bay with 12 loading points will be built. When the terminal is ready, gasoil and gasoline from the northeast and northwest will be transferred to Changsha Terminal via pipeline, then via railway, road and ship, the products will be redelivered to various cities of Hunan and neighboring provinces. This will fundamentally change the oil supply shortage in Changsha and even in the entire province.
