February 20, 2013 [The CLH Group] - Compañía  Logística de Hidrocarburos CLH, S.A. has signed an agreement with the Omani company ORPIC (Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company) for providing consultancy in the construction of a 280-kilometre long oil pipeline and a storage facility in Oman.

The pipeline will connect several infrastructures with each other and make it possible to improve fuel logistics in the country. The complete project also includes the construction of other infrastructures, and will be carried out in three phases:

  • A first phase that will consist of building a pipeline that will connect up the Mina al Fahal refinery and Muscat international airport.
  • A second phase that will involve building a connection between the Mina al Fahal refinery and the Sohar refinery in addition to building a storage facility in the vicinity of Muscat.
  • And the third phase will consist of expanding that storage facility in order to increase the country’s strategic reserves of fuel.

This agreement signed with ORPIC responds to the interest the CLH Group has in promoting the internationalisation of the company. The CLH Group’s international expansion model provides for both growth through the construction or acquisition of logistics assets, and the provision of consultancy services based on the know-how developed throughout more than 85 years of being present in the sector.
