Andhra Pradesh Grants Rs 2,723-Cr Green Ammonia Projects for Amaravati

January 07, 2025 [Manufacturing Today]- The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet has approved two major engineering projects totalling Rs 2,723 crore to enhance the development of Amaravati, the state’s new capital. These projects include South India’s first integrated energy project and a one million-tonne green ammonia manufacturing facility, aiming to promote sustainable growth in the region.

Key projects for renewable energy and employment

The cabinet’s approval covers several impactful projects, including the establishment of a green ammonia facility in Kakinada by AM Green Ammonia. Additionally, Clean Renewable Energy Hybrid Three Way will build a 119 MW wind and 130 MW solar hybrid facility in Nandyal and Kadapa districts.

Tata Power Renewable Energy’s 400 MW solar energy plant also received approval, expected to generate 1,380 jobs and attract Rs 2,000 crore in investments. Furthermore, Reliance Industries’ proposal for 500 compressed biogas (CBG) plants across multiple districts was approved, promising Rs 65,000 crore in investment and 2.5 lakh new jobs.

These projects which are backed by international institutions like the World Bank and HUDCO, mark a key step towards a greener, more sustainable Andhra Pradesh.
