February 12, 2018 [Bunkerspot] - The new 500,000 cbm-capacity facility at the Port of Flushing (Vlissingen), one of the ports of the new North Sea Port grouping, will offer storage for liquid bulk products, such as oil, oil products and chemicals.

According to Alpha Terminals, the terminal, which will be constructed at the mouth of the Sloehaven, should be able to supply an additional 5 to 7 million tonnes of liquid bulk per year.

A jetty is planned next to the terminal for the loading and unloading seagoing and inland vessels. The necessary permits will be applied for this year and it is anticipated that construction will begin in 2019, with the terminal scheduled to begin operation in 2020.

The project marks the first investment at the port by the Dutch/Swiss group, PSB Alpha AG.
