ACWA Breaks Ground on Uzbekistan Green Hydrogen Project

December 1, 2023 [Construction week]- CWA Power Company, Saudi Arabia’s largest private sector power and water entity, has broken ground on the first phase of a 3,000 tonne-per-year green hydrogen project in Uzbekistan.

 

ACWA said the project will be developed in two phases.

Phase 1 comprises of a 3,000-tonne green ammonia pilot project, which is already underway following the signing of the hydrogen purchase and power purchase agreements in May.Once Phase 2 is complete, 2.4 GW of wind energy will power the production of 500,000 tonnes of green ammonia per year.
