AM Green, DP World to Jointly Develop Export Infrastructure for Hydrogen-Based fuels

January 14, 2025 [H2 View]- AM Green and DP World have partnered to develop logistics and storage infrastructure in India in a bid to export one million tonnes of both green ammonia and methanol.

Under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), the two companies aim to establish India as a global hub for green hydrogen-based molecules, as the nation drives forward with its hydrogen ambitions.

They will explore port infrastructure across AM Green’s Net Zero industrial clusters to facilitate global exports; develop bunkering infrastructure across Dubai, India and Southeast Asia for green ammonia and methanol supplied from AM Green plants; and establish terminal infrastructure across the EU, Far East and UAE to create a supply chain.

“We are committed to contributing to India’s ambition of emerging as a green energy exporter,” explained Mahesh Kolli, Founder of Greenko Group and AM Green.

“This strategic partnership will enable us to efficiently export green ammonia, green methanol and other sustainable fuels, enhancing the global green supply chain and supporting the global shift to a low-carbon economy.”

The company is developing multiple projects across India, producing sustainable aviation fuels (SAFs), green ammonia, green hydrogen, chemicals and biofuels.

AM Green reached a final investment decision (FID) for its one million-tonne-per-year green ammonia plant in Kakinada, India, last August. The facility will export the hydrogen derivative to Europe from 2026.

Furthermore, they’re scheduled to boast a five million-tonne-per-year production capacity by 2030 and have already secured offtake deals with companies like Germany’s RWE and BASF.

Yuvraj Narayan, Group Deputy CEO and Chief Financial Officer at DP World Group said partnering with AM Green allows them to “harness [its] expertise in logistics and infrastructure to facilitate the global distribution of clean fuels and chemical products.”
