Indonesia’s Pertamina Plans Plaju Refinery Maintenance
10.12.2023 By Tank Terminals - NEWS

October 12, 2023 [Argus]- Indonesia’s state-owned Pertamina will carry out maintenance at its 118,000 b/d Plaju refinery in south Sumatra from mid-October for about a month.

The refiner will shut the refinery for a planned turnaround of around 30 days, according to sources close to the refiner.

The planned shutdown likely spurred Pertamina to buy more cargoes of gasoil from the spot market as it stocked up. Domestic diesel demand has been firmer with increased industrial activity, Indonesia-based traders said.

Pertamina sought at least eight cargoes of 2,500ppm (0.25pc) sulphur gasoil for October delivery to Indonesia through spot tenders. It sought just two cargoes of the same grade or September delivery through spot tenders.
