May 2, 2022 [BN Americas] – Brazil’s BSBIOS plans to build a liquid fuels terminal in Rio Grande do Sul state, a source familiar with the matter told BNamericas.

The goal is to offer tankage capacity in the municipality of Passo Fundo for local distributors of gasoline, diesel, biodiesel and ethanol.

The terminal is projected to have storage capacity of 6,561m3, with fuel handling operations estimated at around 1,320m3/d.

Founded in 2005, BSBIOS is an integrated agro-energy company, operating in the agribusiness chain, producing and transforming products. Its main products are biodiesel and soy meal.

Petrobras was a partner in the company’s biodiesel activities, but the state-run oil firm sold its 50% interest to the EBC Group in 2020.

BSBIOS has production plants in Passo Fundo, Marialva in Paraná state, and Domdidier in Switzerland.
