Oiltanking Deutschland Completes Sale of Deggendorf Terminal
11.18.2019 By Greta Talmaci - NEWS

November 18, 2019 [Tank News International] – Oiltanking Deutschland has sold its tank terminal in Deggendorf, Lower Bavaria, to Sailer Mineralölhandel GmbH, Augsburg, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Friedrich Scharr KG, Stuttgart, effective December 1, 2019.

Both sides have agreed not to disclose the details of the contract signed last Friday in Stuttgart. “For strategic reasons, Oiltanking Deutschland has decided to no longer operate the tank terminal it acquired in 2013,” the company said in a statement. “The sale to the Scharr Group, which has a strong market presence in Bavaria, secures the future of the site.

Sailer Mineralölhandel will continue the tank terminal operation in Deggendorf with the current seven employees as well as the previous handling and contractual partners unchanged. In addition to its previous trading activities via its own tank terminal in Augsburg, Sailer also plans to offer various heating oil and diesel qualities to the regional mineral oil trade in the catchment area of the Deggendorf tank terminal.

Thanks to a sufficiently large number of tanks, the location on the Danube offers good conditions for this, so that the company is convinced that it will be able to increase the throughput of mineral oil in Deggendorf in the medium term.
