May 3, 2019 [Hellenic Shipping News] – Bladt Industries and Port of Frederikshavn have just signed a three-digit million DKK contract for the construction of a new oil terminal, which will be built on the new part of the port in Frederikshavn.

The establishment of the new oil terminal is a turnkey project, which means that Bladt delivers everything from design and construction to commissioning the port’s new terminal, including installations, dewatering, concrete, tanks, pipes, electricity, control, and automation work.

– We have in cooperation with Stena Oil been in close negotiation with Bladt Industries and we are pleased to have reached an agreement with Bladt for the construction of the new terminal. We are pleased to sign with Bladt Industries, due to their many years of experience within the construction of terminals. We are looking forward to start the construction stage and not least the commissioning of the terminal by the end of 2020, says Mikkel Seedorff Sørensen, CEO, Port of Frederiskhavn

The oil terminal will consist of 11 storage tanks and with a total capacity of 74,400 m3 for maritime products and wastewater, the plant will be Scandinavia’s largest. In addition, loading facilities, pumping station, and pipeline system will be established for import and export of both marine diesel and heavy fuel, central heating systems, and staff facilities.

The planning work has already commenced, and during the summer of 2019 Bladt will be visible at the harbour in Frederikshavn.

– We are pleased with the agreement we have made with Port of Frederikshavn. We have always had good cooperative relations with the port, and we are absolutely certain that the good cooperation will continue in this project, concludes Kim Bringsjord, Senior Vice President, Bladt Industries.

The terminal will be finished and ready for operation by the end of 2020, where it will be rented and operated by Stena Oil.

– We are delighted that the Port of Frederikshavn has closed a turnkey construction deal with such a well reputed company as Bladt Industries. This new state of the art bunker terminal is a key component in our preparation for the post IMO 2020 market, says Jonas Persson,
