Diesel Eports from Russia's Primorsk Rise Above 1 M Tons in September
10.04.2016 - NEWS

October 4, 2016 [OPIS] - Volumes of diesel loaded onto oil tankers for export from the Russian port of Primorsk totaled more than 1 million metric tons in September, according to data from the OPIS Tanker Tracker.

Some 34 vessels carrying 1.087 million tons for diesel loaded in September, according to data from the Tanker Tracker and shipbroker reports. The tally includes one fixture with load laycan dates that spanned the end of August and the start of September. Even excluding this fixture, total volumes exported from the port of Primorsk still stand at 1.02 million tons.

Diesel exports from Primorsk are expected to decline in October, although the preliminary loading list may be a little light on details. Back in late August, the initial list for September loadings at Primorsk suggested only 880,000 tons of diesel would be exported from the Baltic port. All cargoes listed in the final September tally of more than 1 million tons exported from Primorsk were billed as diesel, according to data from shipbrokers and port agents. Still, it may be possible some of the cargoes were misreported to OPIS and were in fact gasoil.

Some 806,000 tons of diesel has been indicated on preliminary loading lists for October, according to latest reports, but the count will become clear as the month progresses and the full extent of fixtures and cargoes is disclosed to the market.
