Malta Tenders to Lease 12 Gasoil Storage Tanks

May 10, 2016 [OPIS] - Enemed, the state-owned fuel buying company for Malta, is leasing 12 storage tanks for 1,000 ppm sulfur gasoil.


There are five tanks available at Has Saptan on the island in the Mediterranean, which have a combined capacity of 84,755 cubic meters and can hold a nominal 72,250 metric tons.

There are seven smaller tanks at Ras Hanzir, which have a combined capacity of 55,435 cubic meters and can hold a nominal 47,405 metric tons.

Transferring product between the two sites can be done from Has Saptan to Ras Hanzir, but not vice versa.

Enemed will award the tender to only one company because of limitations in the design of the pipeline layout.

Interested companies can either bid for six months, starting July 1 and ending Dec. 31, or two years, starting July 1 and ending June 30 2018, or five years, starting July 1 and ending June 30, 2021.

The tender will close May 16.
