Standic’s Strategy for 2016: ISO-container Parking and Heating of Chemicals on Site
01.12.2016 - NEWS

January 12, 2016 [Standic B.V.] - Standic, the storage and distribution specialist – situated in the seaport of Dordrecht – not only opened its new head office in 2015, but also strongly expanded its storage capacities and facilities for chemicals with the completion of Tank Pit 7.

The company also increased its jetty capacity. Since the existing terminal is fully upgraded to modern standards, Standic is ready to take the next step: expanding the possibilities for ISO-container parking and heating and blending of chemicals on site.

Tank Pit 7

With the completion of the new Tank Pit 7 in 2015, Standic has 36,000 cubic meters extra space available for the storage of oleo chemicals and other specialty chemicals. The tank pit is divided into 43 tanks in three different sizes: 500, 1,000 and 1,500 cbm. Thanks to Tank Pit 7 customers take advantage of dedicated stainless steel tanks, each with their own line, pump and loading arm, making cross contamination almost impossible. Besides, the increase of the jetty capacity with 33 percent results in shorter jetty occupation times.

24/7 live storage monitoring

In addition to the expansion and improvement of the terminal Standic will implement a new internal ERP system in the first quarter of 2016. The system will enable customers in the second quarter of 2016 to log on to a customer portal, for direct access to individual customer data. With the new customer portal, Standic offers its clients live storage monitoring, anytime and anywhere.

ISO 22000

At this moment a process is in place to obtain the ISO 22000 certificate. This international standard describes the requirements for food safety management systems for organisations operating in the food chain. Standic aims to offer a part of its tank storage according to this standard before the end of 2016. This enables customers to store food ingredients at the terminal in Dordrecht as well.

Paul Voogt, Commercial Director at Standic: “With the completion of Tank Pit 7 we proudly look back on a special and successful year. However, it is even more important to look forward to the opportunities our site in the seaport of Dordrecht has to offer the coming years. We are busy with the further development of our possibilities for ISO-container parking and heating and mixing products on site. This way, we take work out off the hands of our clients even more and expand our role as one stop shop for the storage of liquids.”
