April 1, 2015 [OPIS] - Growmark Inc. and Magellan Pipeline Co. LP have entered into an agreement that has the Bloomington, Ill.-based energy and agriculture products cooperative and marketer acquiring Magellan's refined fuels terminal near St. Joseph, Mo., the company said Tuesday in a notice to customers obtained by OPIS.
The terminal, while situated very near to St. Joseph in Missouri, is actually located in Wathena, Kan. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Growmark plans to offer ethanol blends of gasoline at the terminal in the future in addition to the diesel fuel now available there, it said in the notice.
The addition of the facility will “solidify the cooperative’s commitment to the energy business and to northwestern Missouri and northeastern Kansas,” the statement said, citing Kevin Carroll, Growmark vice president, Energy Division.
“We will be able to more easily grow with our customers in the region,” Carroll added.
Magellan will continue to deliver refined fuels into the St. Joseph terminal through its Midwest pipeline system.
