07.07.2014 - NEWS

July 7, 2014 [Cattalini Terminais Marítimos S.A./TankTerminals.com] - Cattalini Terminais Marítimos S.A. officially launched in Paranaguá (PR) the expansion project of its new storage facilities. As result of an investment of R$ 450 millions, the project will be divided in 2 stages and it implies the building of 40 tanks with 297,000 m³ capacity, mainly dedicated to store fuel and methanol.

During the first stage, 19 tanks will be built with a capacity of approximately 140,000 m³ for products. The works are expected to be finished by September 2015 and the terminal to start operating in October 2015.

According to Cattalini, the second stage of the project would start in 2018, although it may be brought forward once the first stage is finished. In this second stage, 21 more tanks will be built, with a capacity of 157,000 m³.

“The company’s decision to extend its infrastructure in Paranaguá answers an already existing and increasing demand. We have on-going projects in new markets and plans to invest in other ports”, declared José Edson Rodrigues, the terminal’s financial manager.

The new tank farm will be built in the former container patio. The 47,000 m² area is closed to other company’s tanks and its private pier, which benefits the logistic in product reception and loading.

According to the company, 300 people are expected to be hired to work on the project’s first stage. Once it is in operation, the new tank farm will employ around 50 new collaborators, added to those 270 already working in the company.
