Magellan Buys Refined Products Terminal in Virginia

June 3, 2014 [OPIS] - Magellan Midstream Partners LP said on Monday that it has acquired on Sunday a petroleum distribution terminal in Roanoke, Va., from Marathon Petroleum Company LP. 


Roanoke is located north of Greensboro, N.C., and west of Richmond, Va.

This facility is located on Terminal Road and is supplied by the Plantation Pipeline system. The terminal has approximately 285,000 bbl of storage for refined petroleum products and renewable fuels with a two spot loading rack.

Magellan will offer storage and distribution services at the Roanoke terminal for sub-octane and premium gasoline, ultra-low-sulfur diesel, #1 oil and denatured ethanol.

The Roanoke terminal has a 95,000-bbl CBOB storage capacity, premium gasoline 40,000 bbl, ethanol 20,000 bbl, ULSD 110,000 bbl and kerosene 20,000 bbl.

Magellan also owns and operates a terminal in nearby Montvale, Va., which is supplied by the Colonial Pipeline system.
