03.03.2014 - NEWS

March 3, 2014 [CLH S.A.] - Investments for the year exceeded 46 million euros. Oil product deliveries from CLH facilities totalled 39.8 million cubic metres during 2013.

The turnover generated by the CLH Group in 2013 amounted to 526.3 million euros, which was 2.0% less than in 2012.

Recurring operating profitfor 2013 stood at 225.6 million euros, 1.6% more than in the previous year. Operating revenues fell by 2.6%, while operating expenses decreased by 5.1%.

To be noted under the heading of operating revenues are basic logistics, which fell by 1.4%, in addition to which earnings from consignments of gasolines and diesels, which fell by 0.3%, and earnings from consignments of aviation products, which fell by 3.1%, should be mentioned.

Revenues from strategic and security storage fell by 1.0% and there was a decrease of 45.8% in earnings from the receipt and storage of biofuels. This drop was mainly due to the disappearance of tax benefits on consumption, together with the reduction of the compulsory utilisation percentage.

Distribution logistics experienced an overall drop of 6.1%. In this heading, the marine sector fell by 5.7% and the aviation sector decreased by 6.5%, largely due to the entry of the third operator at the airport facilities in Madrid and Barcelona during the third quarter of 2012.

Activity

Deliveries of oil products from CLH facilities in the January-December 2013 period totalled 39.8 million cubic metres, 2.8% less than in the previous year, as a result of the fall in domestic demand.

In land sector products, which represent 82.3% of the total, withdrawals of automotive fuels fell by 2.1% and the demand for the remaining diesel fuels increased by 1.3%. On the other hand, deliveries of fuel oils decreased, not only because of the economic climate but also on account of the fact that the activity for these products was shut down at the storage facility in Castellón, giving rise to a total decrease of 17.9%.

Deliveries of aviation products fell by 0.8% in 2013 compared with the same period of the previous year. This decline was influenced by the situation that some airline companies are going through and the lower number of passengers using Barajas airport. Withdrawals of products for marine use fell by 25.1%, mainly due to the reduction of the volumes intended for re-export and the entry of new agents in the market.

Activity in transport resources, stated in tons per kilometre travelled, experienced an overall reduction of 4.8%. Transportation by pipeline and tank truck fell by 6.8% and 1.3%, respectively, while transportation undertaken using oil tankers increased by 5.4%, because of improved berthing conditions in Castellón and because the Company had cancelled spot market contracts.

Investments

The investments made in 2013 amounted to 46.8  million euros.

Of this amount, 49.6% (23.2 million euros) were for investments made in storage facilities and airports, and focused mainly on carrying out operational and safety improvements (19.9 million euros) and building new plants and expanding storage capacity (3.3 million euros); 19.0% (8.9 million euros) were spent on improving transport infrastructures and extending the pipeline network; 22.3% (10.4 million euros) were devoted to projects related to environmental protection, and the remaining 9.1% (4.3 million euros) was spent on the development of computer applications and the purchase of machinery and equipment.
