Hess Restarts Woodbridge Terminal; Only Bayonne Still Shut
11.06.2012 - NEWS

November 06, 2012 [OPIS] - Hess said late on Sunday that its products terminal in Woodbridge has reopened loading rack operations on a limited basis, and the only remaining Hess terminal with suspended rack operations is in Bayonne.

Both terminals are in New Jersey.

OPIS notes that some terminals in the New York Harbor have restarted operations this weekend and Harbor pipelines were back in service on Friday. However, delivery volume remains limited for now, and gasoline supply at the barge, rack, pipeline and retail levels may take several more days to return to normal.

Hess’s Brooklyn terminal has resumed marine operations. The remaining Hess terminals with suspended marine operations are: Hess Bayonne, Hess Edgewater, Hess Newark, Hess Roseton and Hess Woodbridge.

All other Hess terminals continue to operate.

Power was partially restored at its 70,000-b/d Port Reading refinery in New Jersey early Saturday morning, but full power restoration will be needed to complete an assessment of refinery equipment before the restart process can begin.

Port Reading’s terminal operations are steadily returning to normal. Hess has added back another high capacity pump so that it can load barges at full loading rate to supply much-needed gasoline to areas affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Hess will get its first barge to the North Ship Dock and its first pipeline delivery from Colonial Sunday night.

Port Reading’s truck rack, which had been operating on a back-up generator, was switched to utility power this morning and continues to supply gasoline and diesel fuel to area gas stations.
