March 7, 2011 [ColomboPage] - Sri Lanka Petroleum Corporation has planned to establish a fuel storage with a capacity of three million liters at the country's second international airport that is being built at Mattala in Hambanthota district of Southern Province.

Previously, it was planned to set up a fuel storage of one million liters. But the government has anticipated a higher need of fuel since it will be an international airport.

The Minister of Petroleum Industry Susil Premajayantha has submitted a cabinet paper in this regard.

Sri Lanka Petroleum Corporation bears all costs for the construction of the fuel storage and other constructions related to it.
