Global Gasoline Trading Chief Resignes From Vitol
11.15.2010 - NEWS
November 12, 2010 [OPIS] - The global head of gasoline trading at major oil trading house Vitol has resigned, bringing the total number of gasoline chiefs leaving the top five major trading companies to two this week, industry sources told OPIS on Friday.

Leon Christophilopoulos, head of gasoline trading worldwide at Vitol, joined
the company in London from Trafigura in June 2008.
Prior to Vitol, he was also the head of global gasoline trading at Trafigura.
Industry sources said that Christophilopoulos may retire from trading after leaving Vitol.
A Vitol spokesman in Washington. D.C., was not immediately available for comment.
It is unclear so far if Vitol would hire a new gasoline chief from outside the company or promote from within.
Meanwhile, OPIS reported on Thursday that Noble fired its co-head for global clean products trading, James McNicol, due to a gasoline sales ban on the company in Nigeria.
Vitol trades over 5.5 million barrels of crude oil and products on a daily basis.
In addition to its trading business, and its storage and terminals business, VTTI, Vitol has an exploration and production business which includes assets in Kazakhstan, Russia and Azerbaijan and a 40% share of the Galoc field in the Philippines.
