CNPC pocketed a 3.29-billion-US-dollar construction contract in November 2008 to build a 400-kilometer-long crude oil pipeline in Abu Dhabi of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The pipeline is designed with a daily transportation capacity of
1.5 million tons of crude oil, which accounts for more than half of UAE’s total crude oil export.
According to the contract, the project is to be completed in August 2011.
Analysts say that the CNPC announcement indicates the company’s pipeline project is not affected by the Dubai World debt woes.
